NOT ALL 2 STROKE OILS ARE THE SAME!!
Many of the engine problems we see are pure and simply down to owners using unsuitable oils. At DUMFRIES SCOOTERS we use and advise our customers to use either PUTOLINE or CASTROL oils.
Pound shop oils, chain saw oils and even car engine oil is the preferred choice of the daft. Only when the engine lets go, do the pennies drop....out of your wallet!
If your scoot has covered around 8000km's then its probably time it had the drive belt and variator rollers checked and replaced.
If the drive belt de-laminates then the destruction it causes can double or even treble your repair bill.
The variator rollers do over time flat spot, this leads to a lack of acceleration and sometimes a drop in top speed, replacement rollers are quick and easy to replace.Book your scoot in soon and get them checked.
This is marine 2 stroke oil for outboards.
Good enough oil....it cost £10.99 per litre but its not designed for scoots.
Wonder why the lad didnt buy proper stuff at £6.50 a litre.............................
